Design Your Own Sharpie Shirts
Grab a couple of plain shirts that you are not wearing anymore and some Stained Fabric Markers by Sharpie to make your own customized shirt designs! You can either print out the design you want to trace over or completely freehand it if you are feeling extra creative. Remember to place a piece of cardboard inside the shirt (along with the printed design if you are using one) to prevent the ink from seeping through the fabric and staining the other side. Once you have your cardboard in place, start drawing!
Craft Some Pretty Stick Dolls
It is relatively easy to find popsicle sticks for crafts at your local craft store. In fact, you can even collect them yourself by eating a couple of popsicles! Once you have a clean popsicle stick, you can start decorating them with markers and colorful washi tape. We suggest drawing the heads of people or animals at the top, followed by a few segments of washi tape of your choice, and ending the popsicle stick off with drawing legs. These would make perfectly cute dolls.
Painted Rocks
If you have a garden, perhaps you could spare a few rocks to be painted over into little pieces of artworks. Use acrylic paints to create fun little designs on the rocks. For a more textured piece, you can think of sticking a speckle of sequins or slapping on a pair of googly eyes. Once completed, these funky little rocks make for great displays in the house as well!
Foam Flower Bookmarks
This is a piece that is both fun to create and practical to use! Foam paper can come in an array of colors, and be cut and stuck together to form different shapes.
First, trace the shape of a flower and cut that out. Next, grab a piece of green foam and cut a strip for the stem and a few leaf-shaped cutouts. Finally, arrange them in the shape of a flower and glue them all together. For an added personalized touch, you can replace the petals of the flower with the handprint of your grandkids, which should be of the perfect size as well.
